Union Minister of State, PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh, on Sunday inaugurated various roads constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
The Minister along with Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner Secretary R&B, Khurshid Ahmad Shah dedicated the PMGSY roads to the rural population of far flung areas of various districts through e-inauguration from Jammu.
Commissioner Secretary informed the Minister that these roads have been constructed in 6 districts of Jammu Division including Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar benefitting 61 habitations. The total length of these roads is 137.285 Km which has been constructed with an expenditure of Rs. 74.74 crore.
Addressing the gathering, Union Minister assured every possible help to the district administrations in their endeavors towards overall growth and development. He congratulated the department for completing the projects in time and said that the central government under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed for overall development of J&K.
Among others DCs of all the six districts, officers and officials of the concerned departments and public representatives were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Union Minister honored Dogri writer Shiv Nirmohi for being awarded the Padamshree Award.
