Lt Gen Harpal Singh, DG, Border Roads briefed the Hon’ble Lt Governor Shri G C Murmu on various works being undertaken by BRO in J&K in particular. BRO has two major Projects in Union Territory of J&K namely Project Sampark in Jammu Region & Project Beacon in Kashmir. He was accompanied by Brig Y K Ahuja, Chief Engineer, Sampark and Brig Ravi Navet, Chief Engineer, Beacon.
All issues like availability of construction materials for roads from quarries, expeditious processing of land acquisition and forest clearances were discussed. He was apprised that DPR of Rajouri-Thanamandi -Surankot and four Packages of Akhnoor -Poonch have been approved. Uri-Poonch Project was also discussed.
Hon’ble Lt Gov praised BRO for their dedication & Nation building through infrastructure development like construction of major roads, bridges and tunnels and assured of expeditious facilitation and removal of all bottlenecks at the earliest.
