Police on Saturday busted a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) module by arresting three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in central Kashmir district of Budgam.
Meanwhile, arms and ammunition were also recovered from the accused.
A senior police officer told UNI that following specific information, police busted a HM module active in Chadoora in Budgam on Saturday. “Three OGWs, identified as Amir Shafi, Shabir Ahad and Mudasir Ahmad Khan, were arrested during various raids,” he said.
He said these individuals were active in the area for the last few months and were involved in various subversive activities. “The accused provided shelter ad logistic support to militants,” he said.
The officer said that during questioning, the accused gave away location of a hideout. “A police team was rushed to the spot and arms and ammunition were recovered,” he said.
He said police has registered a case and initiated investigation to nab other people involved in the militant activities. “More arrests are expected in the coming days,” he added.
