Praying for peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir, as also elsewhere in the country, Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana today greeted the people on Basant Panchmi and birth anniversary of Jai Baba Baloji Maharaj at a congregation held at Jagti.
Mr Rana also prayed for well-being of the people, wishing them to bloom with happiness and joys. He said the festival of Basant Panchami marks the onset of spring, which also symbolizes harmony and prosperity, and it is being celebrated from times immemorial as a festival of hope and joys.
Shri Sukhdevji Maharaj dwelt upon the the week-long congregational programme undertaken by Jai Baba Balloji Sewa Samiti and presented memento to Mr Rana..
“Let’s pray that such auspicious occasion prove as harbinger of brotherhood, the hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir’s composite ethos”, he told the congregation, adding that these festivals unfold opportunities to share joys with others, which in turn in strengthening camaraderie between various segments of society.
Mr Rana highlighted the contribution of Jai Baba Baloji Maharaj in spreading the message of love, compassion and righteousness and hoped that the devout will not only imbibe this sprit but work towards building a society based on equality and social justice.
The occasion was marked by discourse on Shrimad Bhagwat Gita from January 22 to January 28 by Guruji, Kalash Yatra on January 22, immersion of Kalash Yatra on January 28 followed by community langer. The other highlights were Jagran of Mata while the Basant Panchmi festival tomorrow will comprise Mahayagya and special prayers.
The congregation was organized by Jai Baba Balloji Sewa Samiti at Dev Sthan Jagiti in Nagrota.
