Security forces arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant and recovered arms and ammunition in north Kashmir district of Kupwara.
Official sources told UNI that following specific information about presence of a militant, security forces raided village Behama in Kupwara on Thursday. “A militant, identified as Fayaz Ahmad Mir, was arrested during the raid,” they said.
They said arms and ammunition, including an AK 47 rifle, were recovered from the militant.
“Police has registered a case and initiated investigation to ascertain the identity of other people involved in militancy,” they said, adding more arrests are expected in coming days.
