Joint Director Agriculture Jammu, O. S. Choudhary today flagged off a group of 45 farmers hailed from different districts of Jammu division on an exposure visit outside the UT from the Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Jammu, today.
The five days training visit to ICAR Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation Research Center, Chandigarh has been arranged by Farmers Training Center, Jammu under CAPEX Budget 2019-20.
While interacting with the farmers, Joint Director Agriculture impressed upon the farmers to get themselves equipped with the knowledge and latest technical know-how for boosting the farm productivity. He further asked the farmers to utilize the technology in their fields after learning from such trainings and also share it with fellow farmers.
Agriculture Information Officer J. C. Raina, who is also accompanying the farmers on the tour, gave details of the five days training programme at Chandigarh. He said that the group of 45 farmers from Jammu, Rajouri and Udhampur Districts will attend training from 15 to 19 January during which various topics including rain water harvesting techniques, integrated soil health management, protected cultivation techniques in agriculture and horticulture will be covered by the experts.
Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), Anil Nargotra, Deputy Director (Central), Jagmohan Bhat, Plant Protection Officer, Davinder Sharma, Farm Management Specialist, Deepak Kumar, Demonstrator FTC, R. K. Mathu and other officers of the Department were also present on the occasion.
