Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today directed the officials to ensure adequate supply of essential commodities in far-flung arrears of Kashmir Division.
He also said that government is committed in its endeavour to address all the genuine issues of people on priority.
The Advisor made these remarks while chairing a public grievance redressal camp held here today under the aegis of Lieutenant Governor’s Grievance Cell.
As many as 25 public deputations and 150 individuals hailing from different areas of Kashmir valley put their demands and grievances before the Advisor and sought their redressal.
A deputation of employees of Health Department raised the issue of low pay grade while as another deputation of Aharbal Shopian demanded setting up a J&K Bank branch in their area.
A deputation of officers of Horticulture Department raised the issue of stagnation of their services careers.
Similarly, a delegation of contractual workers working in Wildlife Department demanded release of their pending wages. A deputation of inhabitants of Bemina Srinagar demanded construction of drainage network in their area.
Another delegation of residents of Awantipura demanded creation of PHE Mechanical Division in the town while as a delegation of ITI trained workers working in the PHE Department demanded release of their pending wages.
A delegation of daily-wagers working in JKPCC demanded regularisation of their services while as a delegation of residents of Chadoora demanded augmentation of drinking water supply network in the area.
The office-bearers of Sunrise in Kashmir (NGO) demanded augmentation of sports infrastructure in J&K besides informed the Advisor about the awareness campaign launched by them about the need for adhering to traffic rules.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands projected during the camp and assured the deputations and individuals that all of their genuine issues would be looked into and addressed on priority. He reiterated the commitment of the Lt Governor’s administration in taking the governance to the doorsteps of the people.
He also assured the people that the government is taking various steps to ensure that benefits of welfare schemes and programmes launched by the government reach to the deserving and intended beneficiaries.
