Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, today attended the prize distribution ceremony of 28th Senior National Wushu Championship here at new indoor Hall, MA Stadium.
The championship was organized by Wushu Association of J&K and J&K Sports Council.
Around 1300 Wuhsu players drawn from 42 teams across India including teams from paramilitary forces participated in the championship.
In Sanda category, Services lifted the trophy. while J&K was runner up in the category. In Taolu category of championship, Services won the trophy, while Manipur end up as runner up.
Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor complimented the organizers for successful conduct of the championship in J&K.
The concluding event was also attended by Secretary Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Sarmad Hafeez; Secretary JK Sports Council, Naseem Choudhary; Director General YSS, Saleem-ur-Rehman; General Secretary Wuhsu Association for India, Suhel Ahmed; President Wushu Association of J&K, Vijay Saraf, senior coaches and other concerned.
The valedictory event also witnessed cultural shows featuring Dogri, Punjabi and other forms of dances and songs.
