First Lady Mrs. Smita Murmu today visited the Nari Niketan & Bal Ashram at R.S.Pura to take stock of the functioning and facilities being provided to the inmates of the said institutions.
Director General, Social Welfare, Jammu Mrs Rehana Batul and other senior Officers of the Social Welfare Department and District Administration accompanied the Lady Lieutenant Governor.
Interacting with the inmates Mrs. Smita Murmu enquired about the basic amenities besides boarding, lodging, health and medicare facilities being made available to them. She took a round of the premises and suggested some improvements. Overall, she expressed her satisfaction over the functioning of the Bal Ashram and Nari Niketan. Later, the Inmates presented a mesmerizing cultural Programme.
DG Social Welfare Jammu briefed the first Lady of the details of the working of the institutions and also apprised about the requirements needed for smooth functioning of these institutions. At the said institutions, the First lady presented Sanitation Kits to the Inmates advising them to adopt healthy habits by practicing personal Hygiene and Cleanliness. The Team of Doctors who were also present educated the Children and Women about the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.
