J&K Bank organizes DLRC/DCC meet in Baramulla, Bandipora, conducts awareness camp in Pampore

J&K Bank conducted District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meetings of Baramulla and Bandipora districts to review the progress made under various sectors of economy during the current fiscal under the annual District Credit Plan (DCP) for the financial year 2019-20.

 

J&K Bank, which is the Lead Bank, organized the meetings in the two districts chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Dr G N Itoo and District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza respectively. DDM NABARD Gurwant Singh, representatives of banks operating in the districts, district coordinators of government departments and other development agencies also attended the meetings.

 

DC Baramulla Dr G N Itoo reviewed the performance of banks under the Financial Inclusion- Aspirational District Program of GoI and appreciated the participation of the banks under the “Back to Village – 2” program.

 

While taking review of the performance of the banks and government departments, DDC Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad urged the concerned participants to process government sponsored cases expeditiously.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Lead District Manager (LDM) Baramulla Shamim Ahmad Haji informed the house that the district had recorded an achievement of Rs 1257.50 Cr against the annual target of Rs 3318.48 Cr as laid down in the credit plan upto 30th November, wherein 36687 beneficiaries from the district were benefited through various schemes.

 

Giving a sector-wise break-up of the performance, LDM Bandipora G M Ahanger said, “All banks operating in the district have extended credit aggregating to an amount of Rs 247.46 Cr, wherein Rs 143.42 Cr have been disbursed under priority sector and Rs 103.70 Cr under non-priority sector during the first half of the current financial year. He further said that J&K Bank alone has disbursed Rs 196.18 Cr which amounts to 79.27 pc of the total credit disbursed by all banks operating in the district during the period under review.

 

Meanwhile, J&K Bank’sLead Bank Office Pulwama in collaboration with Cluster Office Pulwama organized a financial awareness camp at Wuyan, Pampore to inform the people about the benefits of various Social Security, insurance and pension related schemes.

 

Persons working in unorganized sectors especially the labour class who attended the camp were briefed about the features of various Social SecuritySchemes like PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY and PMAPY. Besides, benefits of saving throughspecially designed deposit schemes of the bank were also highlighted in the financial literacy camp.
