Praising J&K for its natural beauty and untapped potential, Prahlad Singh Patel, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Member of Parliament, Damoh (M.P.) and Prabhari Manipur (BJP) stated that the J&K will soon shine as world tourism destination as he interacted with senior BJP leaders in a meeting conducted at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
BJP State President Ravinder Raina along with MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, former Cabinet Minister Sat Sharma, party State General Secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh & Yudhvir Sethi and other party senior leaders were also present in the meeting.
Prahlad Singh Patel, earlier conducted exhaustive tour of the region for 2 days and personally interacted with the local authorities, social & political activists to have first-hand knowledge for all the issues related to the development of tourism in the region. He toured areas of Mubarak Mandi, Reasi, Katra, Sudh-Mahadev, Purmandal, Jio-Pota Ghat in Akhnoor, Bhaderwah and other areas.
Patel, while addressing the meeting, focused on the development of tourism places in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He maintained that after going through various areas of the region, he has a firm view that the region is home to the host of things having great value of art, culture, heritage and history. He prompted all the senior leaders of the party to move forward with concentrated efforts to promote, preserve and present the things of historical values in whole of the region.
Patel talked about developing the seven major lakes as major tourist destination. He also talked at length about all the projects of Jammu city like Cable Car, Lake etc. He stated that the natural beauty of the region is not yet tapped and developed fully and as such it has got great potential to attract tourists from all over the world and we will make sure that soon J&K becomes world tourism destination.
Patel, assured the senior party leaders that he will consider all the suggestions by party leaders for the development of the J&K region as leading tourism destination as earlier party leaders highlighted various issues about the tourism in region in dozens of memorandums handed over to the Union Minister.
Ravinder Raina, earlier welcomed Union MoS and thanked him for touring the region with such dedication to know the minute details. He said that the Minister was very enthusiastic to see the potential of the region and has promised that he will personally look into the methodology to develop the J&K as the tourism destination. He also prompted all the senior party leaders to interact with the Minister and aquaint him with the issues of various tourist places.

Ali Khatana, Sanjay Baru, Ashwani Chrungoo, Naresh Dogra, Tilak Raj Gupta, Sanjay Khanna, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Sanjita Dogra, Shailja Gupta, Vinay Gupta, Prem Gupta, Naresh Singh, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Ayodhya Gupta, Hari Om Sharma, Tarun Sharma, Kulbhushan Vohra, S. Darshan, S. Malvinder Singh (Shanty), S. Darshan Singh and other senior BJP leaders were also present in the meeting.
