One day Kala Utsav 2019, a UT level competition aimed to promote regional art forms, was organized by School Education Department (SED) at Teacher Bhawan here today.
The programme is part of central governments Kala Utsav initiative launched in 2015 with an objective to promote regional art forms as a component of art in education at school level.
Students from government schools of both Kashmir as well as Jammu divisions participated in the programme and gave various performances depicting local music forms, dance forms, instrumental music and visual art in the form of paintings.
Four teams in the categories of Visual Art, Vocal Music, Instrumental music and Dance from the UT of J&K have been selected for participation in the National Level Kala Utsav scheduled to be held in the first week of January 2020 at Bhopal.
Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta; Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Dr. Arun Manha; State Coordinators, Chief Education officers of various districts, students and teachers participated in the programme.
