Strengthening further its institutional relationship, J&K Bank today opened a facilitation counter inside the Green Campus of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) at Ganderbal. The counter shall facilitate fee collection for students and scholars besides providing other formal banking services to the employees of CUK.
Vice-Chancellor CUK, Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir inaugurated the facilitationcounter in presence of the bank’s Cluster Head Parvaiz Ahmad, Chief Librarian Dr Abdul Majeed Baba, Deputy Registrar Dr Javaid Ahmad Wani and Assistant Registrar Estates CUK Imtiyaz Ahmad Parray. Head Business Unit Ganderbal, faculty and administrative staff of the university, senior officers of the bank, scholars and students enrolled in the university were also present on the occasion.
Acknowledging the proactive role played by J&K Bank in socio-economic empowerment of the people, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the bank for providing state-of-the-art banking facilities to the faculty and students besides collaborating on multiple initiatives with the University.
He expressed his desire to work with J&K Bank in areas of mutual interestand reiteratedthe commitment of CUK in fostering a vibrant linkage with J&K Bank besides assuring all possible support and requisite infrastructure for the smooth functioning of facilitation counter at CUK.
“The inauguration of the counter has been done in line with the bank’s vision of cementing relationships with all the important institutions of J&K and Ladakh especially those of higher education for the overall betterment of the society, particularly the student community”, the Cluster Head said after inauguration, adding that the Chairman and Managing Director of the bank was particularly emotive about and committed to support initiatives aimed at the students’ wellbeing.
Notably, J&K Bank has already entered into an MOU with the Central University of Kashmir (CUK), whereby both institutions conferred preferential status on each other.
